The Kuwait Environmental Voluntary Basis’s diving workforce salvaged a 57-foot, 30-ton yacht that sank off the Salmiya coast as a consequence of robust winds.
Crew chief Walid Al-Fadhel advised KUNA that the yacht’s location posed a menace to maritime navigation and risked environmental air pollution as a result of presence of gas and oil onboard.
In coordination with the Coast Guard, Kuwait Fireplace Pressure, Kuwait Municipality, and Marina Mall administration, the workforce carried out a difficult operation amid excessive temperatures, robust winds, and harmful waves. The yacht had run aground in a rocky space close to Marina Mall port, complicating towing efforts and endangering divers, stories Al-Jarida day by day.
Al-Fadhel urged seafarers to take preventive measures to safe their vessels and keep away from contributing to marine air pollution. He additionally praised the efforts of all supporting businesses and volunteers.
Since 1986, the Kuwait Diving Crew has been engaged in voluntary missions to guard the marine atmosphere and guarantee protected navigation throughout Kuwait’s waters.
