    Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Riyadh Parking Mission has launched the primary section of its non-paid managed parking initiative in residential neighborhoods, as a part of a broader plan to prepare public automobile parking and curb improper practices, together with the spillover of automobiles from business areas into adjoining housing districts.

This rollout follows the sooner implementation of paid parking in key business streets and goals to reinforce parking effectivity, cut back random and unauthorized automobile use in residential areas, and enhance the city expertise.

The managed parking idea in residential zones targets automobiles not belonging to residents by introducing digital residential parking permits for residents and their company, obtainable by way of the Riyadh Parking cell app.

The app is linked to the nationwide “Nafath” platform, enabling safe registration and entry.

The preliminary rollout covers Al-Wurud neighborhood, with plans to develop to different areas close to business streets in future phases.

The mission makes use of superior expertise, together with good patrol automobiles geared up with automated license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras, to observe parking violations each in business zones and surrounding neighborhoods.

Launched in August 2024, the Riyadh Parking Mission is likely one of the largest good parking initiatives globally. It goals to manage over 140,000 non-paid residential parking areas and handle 24,000 paid spots in business districts.

Section one contains 12 zones in neighborhoods similar to Al-Wurud, Al-Rahmaniyah, West Olaya, Al-Muruj, King Fahd, and Al-Sulaimaniah.
