BEIJING (Reuters) -China’s defence minister Dong Jun held a video name along with his U.S. counterpart Pete Hegseth on Tuesday on the latter’s request, China’s state-run information company Xinhua reported on Wednesday.
Dong urged the U.S. defence secretary to take care of communication and an open perspective, and foster secure and constructive army ties based mostly on “equal respect, peaceable coexistence, and mutual respect”, in accordance with Xinhua.
China is dedicated to working with regional nations to take care of peace and stability within the South China Sea, and opposes “the infringement and provocation of sure nations and the deliberate incitement of nations not within the area,” Dong was cited as saying.
