    Chief of staff inspects THAAD air defense unit in Jeddah

    JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia’s Chief of Employees Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili performed an inspection go to to the Royal Saudi Air Protection Forces’ second air protection group and the Air Protection Forces Institute in Jeddah. He reviewed the Kingdom’s first operational THAAD (Terminal Excessive Altitude Space Protection) missile unit.

    The THAAD battery — not too long ago inaugurated after passing complete testing, discipline integration, and operational coaching — represents a big improve in Saudi Arabia’s air protection capabilities, enhancing its capacity to guard strategic airspace and important infrastructure.

    The go to is a part of routine oversight to make sure the operational readiness of air protection methods throughout the Kingdom.

    Throughout his tour of the THAAD battery at Saher Subject, Gen. Al-Ruwaili was briefed on the system’s tactical capabilities, operational duties, and mission planning. He additionally inspected its varied elements deployed within the discipline.

    Following this, Gen. Al-Ruwaili visited the Air Protection Forces Institute’s group coaching grounds, the place he reviewed the THAAD unit’s coaching amenities and acquired updates on the progress of collective coaching applications.
