    Court upholds closure of 60 pharmacies run illegally by non-pharmacists

    Minister of Well being Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi affirmed on Thursday that the Ministry will take a zero-tolerance strategy towards any violations that hurt the integrity of the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

    He harassed that the Ministry stays dedicated to implementing regulatory and authorized measures that uphold the professionalism and independence of pharmaceutical work and shield public belief within the healthcare system.

    In a press assertion, Dr. Al-Awadhi welcomed the Court docket of Cassation’s current rulings, which upheld the Ministry’s 2023 selections to revoke and shut down licenses of a number of violating pharmacies, experiences Al-Rai every day.

    “These rulings are a transparent victory for the Pharmacy Regulation and its government rules, they usually reinforce the rule of regulation,” he mentioned. The Court docket’s selections supported motion taken by the Ministry towards 60 pharmacies present in blatant violation of authorized provisions — notably working below unauthorized administration or possession constructions.

    Dr. Al-Awadhi defined that the regulation strictly prohibits transferring or exploiting a pharmacy license, which is private and granted solely to licensed pharmacists.

    He emphasised that the decision sends a robust message to anybody contemplating violations of healthcare rules. The Ministry, he affirmed, will proceed to meet its oversight tasks with transparency, integrity, and a deal with public curiosity.
