    Dubai expands water supply with one of the world’s largest desalination plants – Business – Corporate

    HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electrical energy and Water Authority (DEWA), inspected progress on the primary part of the ocean water desalination plant challenge within the Hassyan complicated, being applied with a manufacturing capability of 180 million imperial gallons per day, beneath the Impartial Water Producer (IWP) mannequin.

     

    The challenge has achieved about 78% completion and is scheduled for full completion in Q1 2027. It’s a part of DEWA’s technique to extend Dubai’s water desalination capability. The Hassyan plant is likely one of the world’s largest sea water reverse osmosis (RO) initiatives, and DEWA’s first IWP challenge, with investments reaching AED 3.377 billion.

    DEWA is constructing desalination vegetation based mostly on seawater reverse osmosis expertise. DEWA goals to provide 100% of desalinated water utilizing a mixture of clear vitality and waste warmth by 2030.
