    Dubai’s RTA launches trials for driverless vehicles

    Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Pony.ai, an organization specialising in autonomous driving applied sciences, to start pilot trials of autonomous autos within the emirate.

    The trials are scheduled to start later this yr, with plans to launch a totally driverless business service in 2026.

    The MoU was signed on behalf of RTA by Mr. Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of Public Transport Company, and on behalf of Pony.ai by Ms. Ann Shi, Vice President of Technique and Enterprise Growth, within the presence of a number of officers from each events, the Dubai Media Workplace stated in a statement.
