    France’s Macron urges US to revise decision on Palestinian visas

    PARIS (Reuters) -French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned on Tuesday the US’ resolution to not grant visas to Palestinian officers for the upcoming United Nations Basic Meeting in New York was “unacceptable” and ought to be reversed.

    “We name for this measure to be reversed and for Palestinian illustration to be ensured in accordance with the Host Nation Settlement,” Macron mentioned on social platform X.

    Washington mentioned final week it might not enable Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and others to journey to New York, the place a number of U.S. allies are set to recognise Palestine as a state.

    Macron made the feedback after talking with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia with whom he’ll co-chair the Convention on the Two-State Resolution in New York on Sept. 22.

    “Our goal is obvious: to rally the broadest doable worldwide assist for the Two-State Resolution—the one solution to meet the respectable aspirations of each Israelis and Palestinians,” he added.

    “No offensive, annexation try, or compelled displacement of populations will derail the momentum we’ve got created with the Crown Prince, momentum that many companions have already joined.”
