Iran says it has replaced air defences damaged in Israel war

DUBAI (Reuters) -Iran has changed air defences broken throughout final month’s battle with Israel, Iran’s Defah Press information company reported on Sunday quoting Mahmoud Mousavi, the common military’s deputy for operations.

Throughout the battle in June, Israel’s air power dominated Iran’s airspace and dealt a heavy blow to the nation’s air defences whereas Iranian armed forces launched successive barrages of missiles and drones on Israeli territory.

“A few of our air defences had been broken, this isn’t one thing we are able to disguise, however our colleagues have used home assets and changed them with pre-arranged techniques that had been saved in appropriate places so as to maintain the airspace safe,” Mousavi stated.

Previous to the conflict, Iran had its personal domestically-made long-range air defence system Bavar-373 along with the Russian-made S-300 system. The report by Defah Press didn’t point out any import of foreign-made air defence techniques to Iran in previous weeks.

Following restricted Israeli strikes in opposition to Iranian missile factories final October, Iran later displayed Russian-made air defences in a navy train to point out it recovered from the assault.
