    Kuwait elected to UNESCO World Heritage Committee, representing Arab Group

    Kuwait secured a seat on UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee on Monday, representing the Arab Group, in a major cultural milestone for the nation.

    Following the announcement, Secretary-Common of the Nationwide Council for Tradition, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), Dr. Muhammad Al-Jassar, informed KUNA that the achievement displays Kuwait’s revered cultural standing each regionally and internationally.

    He emphasised that Kuwait’s wealthy cultural and heritage legacy continues to earn international appreciation, supported by the unwavering dedication of the nation’s political management.

    Dr. Al-Jassar famous that this victory is the results of directives from the Minister of Info and Tradition, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and NCCAL Chairman Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, who has been instrumental in advancing Kuwait’s heritage initiatives on the worldwide stage.

    He mentioned the success aligns with the Council’s technique to guard nationwide heritage, promote cultural identification, and strengthen Kuwait’s presence inside international cultural establishments.

    Kuwait was elected among the many 21-member states of the World Heritage Committee throughout a voting session held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, as a part of the twenty fifth Common Meeting of States Events to the 1972 Conference on the Safety of World Cultural and Pure Heritage.

    Dr. Al-Jassar described the election as a pivotal second for Kuwait’s cultural journey, elevating its position in shaping worldwide insurance policies on heritage preservation.

    He praised the excellent efforts of the Ministry of Overseas Affairs and Kuwait’s Everlasting Delegation to UNESCO, whose diplomatic work helped safe broad assist for the nation’s candidacy.

    He affirmed that Kuwait will actively contribute to the Committee’s work by making ready nomination recordsdata for its tangible heritage websites and supporting international initiatives geared toward safeguarding human cultural legacy.

    He additionally highlighted the very important position of World Heritage websites in selling tourism, boosting financial growth, and fostering cultural change amongst nations.
