    Kuwait, Iraq hold 12th meeting on maritime border demarcation

    The twelfth assembly of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi Joint Technical and Authorized Committee on the demarcation of maritime borders past Marker 162 was held in Kuwait on Thursday.

    The Kuwaiti facet was led by Deputy International Minister Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, whereas the Iraqi delegation was headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of International Affairs for Bilateral Affairs, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom.

    Either side reaffirmed their dedication to persevering with periodic conferences of the Joint Technical and Authorized Committee, with the aim of finalizing the demarcation of maritime borders between the 2 nations past Marker No. 162.

    The discussions are being performed in accordance with worldwide legislation and the 1982 United Nations Conference on the Legislation of the Sea.
