    Makkah tops among 6 Saudi regions witnessing heavy rainfall

    Saudi Gazette report

    RIYADH — Six areas of Saudi Arabia witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday. Al-Rayyan in Al-Jamum governorate within the Makkah area acquired the very best quantity of rainfall with 32.8 mm, adopted by Al-Baha area with 20.8 mm.

    A complete of 44 hydrological and climatic monitoring stations throughout six areas within the Kingdom recorded the rainfall. The report from the Ministry of Surroundings, Water and Agriculture indicated that rainfall, starting from 0.5 mm to 32.8 mm, was recorded within the areas of Makkah, Asir, Tabuk, Hail, Jazan, and Al-Baha.

    The information coated the 24-hour interval from 9:00 am on August 12 to 9:00 am on August 13. The ministry report said that within the Makkah area 20.2 mm rain recorded in Al-Kamil governorate and 20 mm in Al-Umrah, whereas within the Asir area 4.2 mm rain recorded in Tanuma governorate and 1.8 mm within the northern a part of Al-Namas governorate. Within the northern Tabuk area, 4.2 mm rain recorded in Haql governorate and 1.8 mm within the Shaqri Well being Middle.

    The report indicated that the Hail area recorded 0.5 mm in Al-Shihiyah in Buqa’a governorate, whereas the Jazan area recorded 6 mm in Balgazi, 5.1 mm in Aiban in Al-Aydabi governorate, and a couple of.6 mm in Al-Kadmi in Sabya governorate, whereas Al-Baha area witnessed rainfall with 6.9 mm in Nakhal in Al-Qura governorate, and three.4 mm in Shada in Al-Mekhwah governorate.
