    Municipality says building amendments limited to former free zone only

    Director Normal of Kuwait Municipality, Manal Al-Asfour, confirmed that latest amendments to constructing circumstances and specs apply solely to the previous free zone, now formally generally known as Service Sector 16, and don’t embody to Shuwaikh or Al-Rai industrial areas.

    Al-Asfour refuted media claims suggesting broader utility of the adjustments, emphasizing that updates pertain completely to buildings inside Service Sector 16, in line with experiences.

    Key amendments embody:

    • Permitting resort development as much as 150% of the plot space, in keeping with earlier requirements.
    • Allowing a number of basement ranges in buildings throughout the sector.

    Capital Governorate Municipality director and head of the constructing laws examine committee, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, famous that the previous free zone has been formally transferred to the general public authority for business and reclassified below Service Sector 16.
