    Rafah Border Remains Closed by Israel as Dispute over Hostage Bodies Stalls Ceasefire Progress

    Israel announced on Tuesday, 14 October, that the Rafah border crossing between Palestine and Egypt will stay closed, with the potential for extending the closure, until Hamas palms over the stays of the hostages. The closure will sharply cut back the stream of humanitarian support into the besieged enclave, according to 3 Israeli officers who spoke on the situation of anonymity.
