    Saudi Arabia to implement social insurance for athletes and coaches starting July 1

    RIYADH — The Ministry of Sports activities and the Common Group for Social Insurance coverage (GOSI) introduced on Thursday the official rollout of social insurance coverage protection for Saudi gamers and coaches, efficient Tuesday, July 1.

    The initiative extends pension and unemployment safety underneath Saudi Arabia’s Social Insurance coverage Regulation to Saudi nationals who’re full-time athletes and coaches, whether or not working with golf equipment inside or exterior the Kingdom.

    The regulation applies to all athletes and coaches employed by sports activities golf equipment and federations.

    The coverage covers each the pension and unemployment insurance coverage branches of the system and consists of provisions for retroactive utility of pension protection, topic to approval by the related GOSI authority and monetary penalties for delayed registration.

    The transfer is geared toward enhancing long-term social safety for Saudi sports activities professionals, together with retirement advantages and help in circumstances of job loss.
