    Saudi student wins bronze at 2025 International Nuclear Science Olympiad in Malaysia

    RIYADH — Saudi Arabia claimed a bronze medal on the 2025 Worldwide Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO), held in Kuala Lumpur from July 30 to August 6, with 56 college students from 14 nations collaborating within the world competitors.

    The medal was awarded to Azam Khaled Al-Omari, a scholar from Jeddah, marking the Kingdom’s fifth total achievement within the competitors’s historical past, comprising one silver and 4 bronze medals.

    The Olympiad, formally endorsed by the Worldwide Atomic Power Company (IAEA) in 2024, serves as a worldwide platform to advertise the peaceable and protected use of nuclear applied sciences whereas encouraging younger college students to discover and contribute to this important scientific sector.

    The Saudi nationwide group underwent in depth preparation led by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Basis for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Training, and in collaboration with King Abdulaziz Metropolis for Science and Know-how (KACST) and King Abdullah Metropolis for Atomic and Renewable Power (Okay.A.CARE).

    The competitors consists of two five-hour exams — one theoretical and one sensible — requiring college students to conduct experiments or simulations in nuclear science disciplines, with a powerful emphasis on analytical considering and inventive problem-solving.
