    Saudi, Turkish FMs discuss Israeli strikes on Syria

    RIYADH — Saudi International Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone name on Wednesday together with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to debate escalating regional safety considerations, together with the newest Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory.

    The decision targeted on the continued Israeli assaults, which intensified on Wednesday with a wave of strikes concentrating on the Syrian capital Damascus.

    In line with Syria’s state information company SANA, Israeli warplanes bombed the Common Employees Advanced and the Presidential Palace, referred to as Qasr al-Shaab.

    Footage shared on-line confirmed smoke rising from the impression zones following the assaults.

    The strikes got here shortly after Israeli Protection Minister Yoav Gallant promised “painful blows” in opposition to Damascus. Native media additionally reported airstrikes on Suwayda in southern Syria.

    In response, the Syrian International Ministry issued a press release condemning the assaults as a blatant violation of the UN Constitution and worldwide humanitarian legislation.

    Damascus urged the UN Safety Council to intervene instantly and take “pressing and concrete measures” to halt what it known as repeated Israeli aggression in opposition to a sovereign UN member state.
