    SFDA initiates punitive measures against expat accused of selling medicine illegally

    DAMMAM — The Saudi Meals and Drug Authority (SFDA) has referred an expatriate, working in Dammam, to the Public Prosecution to take authorized procedures towards him for promoting unregistered pharmaceutical merchandise. This act constitutes a transparent violation of the provisions of the Saudi Regulation of Pharmaceutical and Natural Institutions and Preparations.

    The legislation governs the licensing, manufacturing, sale, and distribution of pharmaceutical and natural merchandise throughout the Kingdom. Paragraph 2 of Article 34 of the legislation stipulates that “whoever sells, dispenses, or possesses a pharmaceutical or natural product that’s adulterated, spoiled, expired, or unregistered, with the intent to commerce it, shall be punished by imprisonment for a interval not exceeding 10 years, or by a fantastic not exceeding SR10 million, or by each penalties.”

    The authority pressured the significance of adhering to the laws and guidelines aimed to boost the protection and high quality of medicines and merchandise circulating in Saudi markets. It emphasised that such violations pose a direct menace to the well being and security of shoppers and warrant the appliance of authorized penalties towards the perpetrators.
