TUNIS (Reuters) -Tunisia launched on Thursday outstanding lawyer and human-rights advocate Sonia Dahmani, a vocal critic of President Kais Saied, after she spent a year-and-a-half in jail over feedback during which she criticized Saied’s insurance policies.
Dahmani is extensively seen as one of many main voices defending freedom in Tunisia, and her arrest introduced a wave of solidarity from attorneys and civil-society activists, who stated the case carried a political dimension.
TAP state information company quoted a judicial supply as saying that Dahmani was freed underneath a conditional launch order issued by the justice minister.
