    UAE fines employers over $9.25m for fake jobs and inactive businesses

    Because the begin of the yr, round 1,300 institutions owned by roughly 1,800 employers have been flagged by MoHRE for violating employment and licensing laws.

    UAE enterprise fines

    In response, MoHRE enforced a collection of strict penalties:

    • AED34m ($9.25m) in fines had been issued
    • Offending institutions had been downgraded to the third class within the ministry’s classification system
    • Work allow issuance was suspended
    • Employers had been barred from registering any new corporations inside MoHRE methods

    The ministry’s actions fall beneath the scope of Federal Decree-Legislation No. 33 of 2021 on Regulating Labour Relations, in addition to Cupboard Decision No. 21 of 2020 and Ministerial Decision No. 318 of 2024.

    MoHRE has urged all employers to cancel their licences and settle their staff’ standing if enterprise operations have ceased, warning that inactive licensed institutions with registered workers are in clear violation of UAE labour legal guidelines.

    Authorized penalties apply to each the employer and the employees concerned.

    The ministry praised the effectivity of its built-in monitoring system, which mixes digital instruments with discipline inspections. These mechanisms assess institution exercise based mostly on authorised enterprise operations, workforce dimension, ministry transaction information, and different verified indicators.
