    78 percent of Gulf workers are expatriates, says Khaled Al-Sunaidi

    Kuwait hosted the eleventh assembly of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Labor Ministries of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) international locations on Tuesday, with Performing Director Basic of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Marzouq Al-Otaibi highlighting the GCC’s dedication to advancing labor techniques and addressing shared challenges.

    Al-Otaibi mentioned the assembly coated strategic points in Gulf labor markets, initiatives on workforce nationalization and personal sector employment, labor growth, and the enhancement of social protections and rights for working ladies, reviews Al-Rai day by day.

    He described the gathering as a continuation of joint Gulf motion, offering a priceless platform to develop frequent options that enhance societal well-being and assist sustainable growth.

    Assistant Secretary-Basic for Financial and Improvement Affairs of the GCC, Khaled Al-Sunaidi, emphasised that the labor sector is a key pillar of sustainable growth within the Gulf.

    He defined that the assembly goals to strengthen coordination and integration throughout work and growth sectors, unify efforts to enhance the work atmosphere, and develop joint insurance policies and packages to spice up the GCC’s competitiveness regionally and internationally.

    Al-Sunaidi additionally highlighted the composition of the Gulf labor market within the second quarter of 2024, noting that it included over 24 million employees, of whom greater than 19 million — over 78 % — had been expatriates.

    He careworn the necessity for better steadiness between workforce localization and the efficient use of expert labor, whereas noting that world challenges necessitate continued coordination and joint motion amongst GCC states.
