    Al-Kandari says, Kuwait committed to safe, dignified life for elderly through sustainable services

    The State of Kuwait, represented by Dr. Jassim Al-Kandari, Assistant Undersecretary for the Social Welfare Sector on the Ministry of Social Affairs, participated Thursday in a global occasion titled “In the direction of Protected and Dignified Growing old: Defending the Aged in Mild of Demographic and Social Transformations”, held alongside the 59th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

    In remarks to KUNA, Dr. Al-Kandari affirmed that Kuwait’s participation underscores its ongoing dedication to regional and worldwide efforts that shield and empower older individuals, whereas fostering cooperation with worldwide organizations and civil society.

    He pressured that enhancing the standard of life for the aged is a cornerstone of Kuwait’s social coverage, not solely nationally but additionally throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) framework. Aged residents, he emphasised, are seen as pillars of growth and custodians of knowledge, values, and expertise.
    In his tackle, titled “Reviewing Fashionable Gulf Traits and Insurance policies in Caring for the Aged in Mild of Inhabitants and Social Challenges”, Dr. Al-Kandari highlighted Kuwait’s longstanding historical past of aged care, courting again to 1955; and reviewed legislative developments, together with the institution of a specialised aged care division.
