    Civil Defense warns of heavy rains, flooding risk in parts of Saudi Arabia

    Saudi Gazette report

    RIYADH — The Civil Protection has urged residents to train warning, stay in protected areas, and keep away from valleys, flood-prone spots, and swimming in them, as thunderstorms are forecast to proceed in components of the Kingdom till subsequent Wednesday.

    The authority stated Makkah area is predicted to see average to heavy rainfall, resulting in flash floods, hail, and downward winds stirring mud and sand. Affected areas embrace Makkah metropolis, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, Al-Laith, Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Jumum, Al-Kamil, Bahrah, Al-Muwaih, Turbah, Al-Khurmah, and Ranyah.

    It added that Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Najran may even expertise average to heavy rain, whereas gentle to average showers are forecast for Riyadh and Madinah areas.

    The Civil Protection known as on the general public to comply with official updates by way of media and social media channels.
