    Consumer prices committee transferred from Cooperatives to Ministry of Commerce

    In a major transfer to boost shopper safety and streamline worth regulation, the Ministry of Social Affairs introduced the upcoming switch of the Cooperative Societies’ Pricing Committee to the Ministry of Commerce and Trade.

    Ministry spokesperson Yousef Al-Mutairi defined this step will centralize the pricing course of for firms wishing to provide items to cooperative societies. The committee will likely be liable for evaluating costs, analyzing product prices, and establishing standardized pricing mechanisms, reviews Al-Rai every day.

    Al-Mutairi revealed that the Ministry of Social Affairs, in coordination with the Federation of Cooperative Societies, plans to launch an digital platform to check and observe product costs. The purpose is to boost transparency, unify pricing, and shield shopper pursuits throughout all cooperatives.

    He clarified that this switch of accountability comes beneath a cooperation protocol signed between the Ministries of Social Affairs and Commerce, following directions from the Cupboard. The protocol is designed at hand over all obligations and powers of the Client Costs Committee from the Federation of Cooperative Societies to the Ministry of Commerce, which has the authorized authority and technical capability to supervise worth monitoring.
