    DESIGN RESIDENCY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ITALIAN PROCELAIN BRAND GINORI 1735

    The Design Council Abu Dhabi (DCAD) is happy to announce the launch of its second residency cycle: the DCAD Pottery & Ceramics Design Residency Program, a pioneering initiative centered on heritage-driven product design and cross-cultural inventive trade. Developed and produced by Gushcloud Worldwide, this six-month residency is introduced in partnership with Italian porcelain model Ginori 1735 and might be hosted on the Abu Dhabi-based workshop MAKE.

    Althea Lim, Group CEO and Co-Founding father of Gushcloud Worldwide, stated, “We’re proud to facilitate this partnership and proceed fostering a world-class inventive ecosystem in Abu Dhabi.     Nahyan, DCAD continues to foster design excellence within the UAE by empowering rising

    designers by means of immersive academic applications rooted in sustainability, innovation, and Emirati

    cultural heritage.

    The governance of DCAD contains Undersecretary Rana El Khoury, Vice Chairwoman Nadine Maalouf, and advisory committee members Rym Al Falasy, Asma Al Fahim, Meera Al Suwaidi, and Rima Al Mokarrab.

    The brand new residency program will welcome 10-15 UAE nationals and UAE residents, female and male, specializing in ceramics or pottery, who will bear coaching in each conventional and up to date ceramic design methods.

    By way of a curriculum that mixes studio apply, sustainability, design principle, and masterclasses – together with a two-hour particular session led by Ginori 1735 Inventive Director – members will develop unique ceramic collections impressed by regional and Italian craft traditions.
