    MAKKAH — Hundreds gathered in Makkah on Friday to bid farewell to Saudi scholar Mohammed Al-Qassim, who was fatally stabbed last week in Cambridge, United Kingdom, the place he was learning.

    Mourners carried out funeral prayers for the 21-year-old on the Grand Mosque following Friday prayers earlier than his burial on the Al-Shuhada Cemetery.

    British police have charged a 21-year-old man from Cambridge with homicide in reference to the incident and arrested a second man in his 50s on suspicion of helping the offender.

    The primary suspect, recognized as Charles Corrigan, appeared earlier than Cambridge Crown Court docket on Wednesday, the place he denied the costs, claiming self-defense.
