    ‘GCC cooperation vital to confront environmental challenges and ensure sustainable future’

    Performing Director-Normal of the Atmosphere Public Authority, Nouf Behbehani, affirmed that the environmental challenges confronting the world at present — chief amongst them local weather change, useful resource shortage, and air pollution — necessitate enhanced cooperation and coordination amongst Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

    Talking on the twenty seventh Assembly of GCC Undersecretaries of State for Environmental Affairs, Behbehani pressured the significance of growing sustainable, science-based options tailor-made to the area’s distinctive environmental situations, experiences Al-Rai each day.

    She reaffirmed Kuwait’s dedication to supporting joint Gulf initiatives and tasks geared toward attaining a clear, protected, and sustainable surroundings, whereas expressing appreciation to the State of Qatar for its efforts throughout its earlier presidency and to the GCC Secretariat, led by Secretary-Normal Jassim Al-Budaiwi, for its steady follow-up on the implementation of environmental choices.

    In the meantime, Khalid Al-Sunaidi, GCC Assistant Secretary-Normal for Financial and Improvement Affairs, counseled the member states’ rising concentrate on environmental and local weather points, highlighting the issuance of 1,231 unified Gulf requirements and technical rules by 2024 to strengthen collective environmental motion and align it with the area’s developmental priorities.
