BERLIN (Reuters) -Germany’s resolution to curb arms exports to Israel is available in response to Israel’s plan to develop its operations within the Gaza Strip, Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated on Sunday in an interview with public broadcaster ARD.
“We can’t ship weapons right into a battle that’s now being pursued solely by army means,” Merz stated. “We need to assist diplomatically, and we’re doing so.”
The worsening humanitarian disaster in Gaza and Israel’s plans to develop army management over the enclave have pushed Germany to take this traditionally fraught step.
The chancellor stated within the interview that the growth of Israel’s operations in Gaza may declare a whole bunch of hundreds of civilian lives and would require the evacuation of the whole metropolis of Gaza.
