    Interior Ministry busts major cable and transformer theft operation

    The Common Division of Prison Investigations – Capital Governorate (Jaber Al-Ahmad Workplace) has introduced the arrest of a gang specializing in stealing authorities transformers and cables.

    Following intensive surveillance and investigations, detectives tracked down the primary suspect on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. He was caught transporting and storing massive portions of stolen authorities cables, experiences Al-Rai each day.

    Investigations led to the arrest of extra suspects of Bangladeshi and Indian nationalities, who admitted their position in buying and reselling stolen cables.

    Additionally they confirmed the involvement of a Kuwaiti citizen who owned the home used for storage and shared income with the group.

    One other team of workers from an organization contracted with the Ministry of Electrical energy, Water and Renewable Power was arrested whereas trying to load stolen cables onto a authorities automobile. They confessed to abusing their official duties by withholding cables from the ministry and promoting them to the primary suspect.

    The suspects led authorities to a different warehouse, believed to be the first buying website. Giant portions of stolen cables — weighing over one ton — have been recovered. The warehouse proprietor admitted to knowingly shopping for the stolen items.

    The Ministry of Inside reaffirmed its dedication to defending nationwide safety, stressing that authorized measures will probably be taken in opposition to all those that try and tamper with state property or public security.
