JEDDAH — The Saudi Royal Air Protection Pressure formally inaugurated the primary unit of the Terminal Excessive Altitude Space Protection (THAAD) missile system throughout a ceremony held on the Air Protection Forces Institute in Jeddah, the Ministry of Protection introduced.
The unit was commissioned into service following the profitable completion of system testing, analysis, and discipline coaching of personnel inside the Kingdom.
The ceremony was attended by Lt. Gen. Mazyad Al-Amro, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Protection Forces, who formally handed over the unit’s flag to the commander of the first Air Protection Group, marking its operational readiness.
The deployment of the primary THAAD battery is a part of a broader protection venture aimed toward boosting the Kingdom’s air protection capabilities and guaranteeing the safety of important strategic infrastructure and nationwide pursuits.
Beforehand, the Air Protection Forces had graduated personnel for the primary and second THAAD models after they accomplished specialised coaching programs at Fort Bliss within the U.S. state of Texas.
