    UAE helps lead $2.9bn global anti-drug operation seizing 822 tons of narcotics and arresting 12,564 suspects

    The UAE has participated in a serious worldwide anti-drug operation coordinated by the Worldwide Safety Alliance (ISA), which led to the seizure of greater than 822 tons of narcotics valued at $2.9bn and the arrest of 12,564 suspects worldwide.

    The 2-month operation, performed throughout air, sea, and land, was the second of its sort organised by the ISA.

    It concerned 25 nations and a number of worldwide police organisations, highlighting the rising energy of cross-border safety collaboration.

    UAE struggle on medicine

    Member states of the Worldwide Safety Alliance collaborating included:

    • Netherlands
    • Slovakia
    • Italy

    From the American Police Organisation (Ameripol), members included:

    • Colombia
    • Argentina
    • Bolivia
    • Brazil
    • Chile
    • Ecuador
    • Paraguay
    • El Salvador
    • Guatemala
    • Panama
    • Venezuela
    • Peru

    The European Union Organisation for Legislation Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) was represented by Croatia and Belgium, alongside contributions from the Maldives, Jordan, and Nepal.

    Officials stated that the intensive cooperation contributed to detecting new criminal networks, sharing experience on smuggling strategies, and enhancing bilateral relations between specialised specialists.

    It additionally strengthened area coordination, raised ranges of joint preparedness, and developed proactive mechanisms to fight illicit drug flows.

    Established in 2017 by France and the UAE, the ISA gives a framework to handle frequent safety challenges.

    Its focus consists of combating transnational organised crime, combining high-level strategic coordination with operational area participation. The alliance additionally performs a task in consolidating the UAE’s world place in shaping worldwide safety coverage and constructing long-term strategic partnerships.
