    UAE Tightens Oversight on Higher Education in Ajman: New Rules Announced for Universities and Colleges

    The UAE Ministry of Larger Training and Scientific Analysis (MoHESR) has launched new rules for universities and faculties working in Ajman, marking a big step towards strengthening academic governance, high quality assurance, and accreditation requirements within the emirate.

    The transfer follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between MoHESR and the Common Secretariat of the Govt Council  Ajman, establishing a unified framework for licensing and accrediting greater training establishments (HEIs).

    Stricter Licensing and Accreditation

    Underneath the brand new framework, all greater training establishments in Ajman should acquire official licenses from the ministry earlier than commencing operations. Likewise, each educational programme supplied would require MoHESR accreditation to make sure that levels awarded are formally recognised throughout the UAE and internationally.

    The settlement goals to forestall the operation of unlicensed universities and to ensure that college students obtain training from establishments that meet the nationwide benchmarks of high quality and governance.

    Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Sources and Emiratisation and Performing Minister of Larger Training and Scientific Analysis, stated the initiative displays the UAE’s imaginative and prescient of constructing a strong and unified training ecosystem aligned with nationwide growth objectives.

    “This partnership empowers Ajman-based greater training establishments to design educational programmes that meet labour market calls for and align with the aspirations of our youth,” stated Dr. Al Awar. “It additionally underscores our dedication to steady enchancment and to fostering research-driven, high-quality training.”

    Supporting Ajman Imaginative and prescient 2030

    Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, Secretary-Common of the Govt Council – Ajman, emphasised that the MoU aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Govt Council.

    “This collaboration displays our dedication to strengthen cooperation with federal entities to raise Ajman’s academic panorama according to the best worldwide requirements,” Al Matrooshi stated. “It additionally helps Ajman Imaginative and prescient 2030 and the UAE’s broader sustainable growth objectives by empowering nationwide expertise and enhancing academic competitiveness.”

    By this partnership, MoHESR and the Ajman Govt Council will collectively oversee institutional compliance, streamline assessment processes, and unify academic governance.

    The ministry added that this settlement reinforces efforts to make sure all greater training entities throughout the nation function inside a cohesive framework that prioritises educational excellence, innovation, and alignment with the UAE’s future-ready training technique.
