    Kuwait’s National Library celebrates British Council’s platinum jubilee

    Kuwait Nationwide Library (NLK) hosted on Tuesday the British Council’s Platinum Jubilee Exhibition, displaying uncommon pictures and publications documenting the Council’s position within the instructional area in Kuwait.

    Researcher in Kuwaiti-British relations and exhibition organizer Essa Dashti informed KUNA that the exhibition was inaugurated by British Ambassador to Kuwait, Belinda Lewis.

    Dashti stated that the exhibition included a uncommon assortment of pictures documenting the launch of the British Council’s work in Kuwait in 1955, along with necessary publications utilized in Kuwaiti faculties to show English.

    The exhibition, which can proceed for every week, coincided with the 250th anniversary of historic relations between Kuwait and the UK.

    Photographs of a number of high-level visits had been displayed for the primary time, together with the go to of King Charles III, then Prince of Wales, in 1993, when he reopened the British Council following Kuwait’s liberation from the Iraqi invasion, along with his historic second go to to Kuwait in 1997.
